Anushka Sharma has been involved in a variety of brand-related campaigns after her Lakme Fashion Week debut. They include ads in the name of Fiat Palio and Fiat Whisper Nathella Jewelry. Anushka Sharma, along with her modeling career joined an acting school and began giving auditions for film. Anushka Sharma's first acting role was in the movie Rab Ne Bana Di Jodi featuring Shah Rukh Khan. The actress took a day off to get ready for her test on screen and was unable to do an impractical version. Then, she signed on for three films with Yash Raj Films. The film in which she appeared was portrayed as a young lady who got married to a middle-aged man (the part Shah Rukh Khan is playing). The film was hit on the box office and was the second-highest-grossing movie of 2008. Anushka was a part of the cast along with Shahid Kapoor Meiyang Chang and Vir Das in the movie Badmash Company. The film was met with mixed praise. Anushka was also seen with Ranveer in the film 'Band Baaja Baaraat' in which she played the role of a Punjabi middle-class girl who started her own business. This movie was well received and was a huge success. Anushka's 3-film contract at Yash Raj Films ended with the release of Band Baaja Baaraat.
